A Cape Town pastor has been arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old member of his congregation.
Police said the 32-year-old man‚ from Town Two in Lingelethu West‚ Khayelitsha‚ took the teenager to his home on the pretext of wanting to pray for her.
“While instructing the victim to undress to apply oil to her body‚ the pastor pushed her onto his bed and raped her‚” Captain FC van Wyk said on Saturday.
“The victim reported the matter to SAPS and the suspect was arrested.”
In another incident reported by Western Cape police on Saturday‚ three men were arrested for suspected hijacking of a truck in Goodwood. The truck was carrying alcohol worth R700‚000.
