Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi has described a photograph of himself superimposed on to an ANC billboard‚ an image of which popped up on social media this past week‚ as “deeply mischievous”.
“Whoever designed this false image clearly wants to sow the lie that I support voting for the ANC. It is deeply mischievous and sets back any talk of reconciliation between our two parties‚” Buthelezi told supporters at the launch of the party’s local government election manifesto in Durban on Sunday.
He said the IFP had not joined the ANC.
“For those who may have seen this image on social media‚ and are wondering what it means‚ I want to set your mind at ease. There is nothing but mischief behind it.”
