Bodies of serial killer’s victims found close to his home

The bodies of two of the victims of alleged serial rapist and murderer Thapelo Motseki were found near two separate houses he had resided in.

The South Gauteng High Court sitting in Palm Ridge in the East Rand heard that the bodies of Emerencia Botshelo Kgakatsi‚ 17‚ and Thembelihle Dlamini‚ 16‚ were found in close proximity to his homes in Seraleng in North West and in Snake Park‚ Soweto‚ respectively.

Botshelo’s body was found 35.7 metres away from Motseki’s Seraleng home on May 1‚ 2013.

Themeblihle’s body was found 52.1metres away from Motseki’s parental home in Snake Park.

He said he heard about the two deaths but didn’t go to the crime scenes when the bodies were found.

He has denied killing the two women despite a witness testifying that he was last seen with Botshelo the day before she was found murdered.

Motseki is facing four counts of murder‚ four of rape and three of kidnapping.

It is alleged that he raped and killed Thembelihle‚ Botshelo‚ Lungile Kubheka‚ 15 and his colleague Cinthiah Setuke.

Setuke was attacked while working at Aquarius Platinum Mine in Rustenburg‚ North West‚ on the night of October 8‚ 2013.

Lungile’s body was found on August 6‚ 2013‚ in a yard opposite her parental home in Snake Park‚ Soweto.

The trial continues.
