A fire erupted in a restaurant in Centurion south of Pretoria on Sunday morning‚ but fortunately there no casualties‚ ER24 emergency medical service reported.
It said people were evacuated quickly from the building.
“ER24 paramedics also assisted Fire and Rescue Services in evacuating people from neighbouring buildings‚” it said.
“People were assessed. Fortunately there were no injuries. Four people were treated on scene for smoke inhalation. These included people who helped get some of the people in the building out quickly as well as a man believed to be in his 80s found next door to the building where the fire erupted‚” ER24 said‚ adding that two dogs had also been saved from a neighbouring property.
The cause of the blaze and extent of damage has not yet been determined.
