Three suspects were due to appear in the Worcester Magistrate’s Court on Thursday for allegedly stabbing and robbing a policeman near the town’s train station‚ Western Cape Police said.
The suspects allegedly stabbed the police officer in the face on Tuesday evening before robbing him of state equipment which included a laptop and a two-way police radio‚ police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said.
“Police members attached to Worcester SAPS followed up information and it led to the arrest of three suspects aged 18‚ 24 and 31 year old. One suspect was charged for robbery with aggravated circumstances while the other two suspects were charged for possession of stolen property after the items robbed from the victim were found in their possession‚” Rwexana added.
