Two men were critically wounded on Thursday following a shooting incident near Malibongwe Drive in Sharonlea, Randburg, paramedics said.

The two were treated on the scene on President Fouche Road around 12.45pm before being taken to a nearby hospital, Netcare911 spokeswoman Santi Steinmann said.

"Services are still busy assessing more people which may result in more patients being transported to hospital," she said.

According to Randburg Sun, there was an alleged attempted robbery in Sundowner.

Shots were fire by the Londoloza Security after two boys and a domestic worker was held up.

The driver of the getaway car lost control after being shot, and other suspects are allegedly on the run with a helicopter chase after them.

Motorists were urged to use alternative routes as traffic in the area was severely affected, Steinmann said.
