The Economic Freedom Fighters and Democratic Alliance coalition in Parliament is posing a danger, the SA Communist Party said on Sunday.
"The EFF, a demagogic, neo-fascist, populist formation has made it clear that it is prepared to erode the legitimacy of hard-won democratic institutions as it advances, hell-bent, its egotistic agenda," the SACP said in a statement following its augmented central committee meeting.
"There is now a youngish, largely male white, often racist, brat-pack within the DA that has captured hegemony in its parliamentary caucus."
These two collaborated together in Parliament.
The SACP said it was pleased that in the past week there seemed to be an awareness from a range of other opposition parties of "the danger posed by the EFF/DA brat-pack".
"While some of the more arcane customs of Parliament require renovation, and while robust parliamentary debate is essential, we call on parliamentary parties to close ranks against anarchy."
The SACP welcomed the suspension of some EFF MPs.
On Thursday night, the National Assembly adopted a report calling for the suspension of 12 EFF MPs.
The report recommended that Malema, EFF chief whip Floyd Shivambu, Godrich Gardee, Mpho Ramakatsa, Khanyisile Litchfield-Tshabalala, and Mbuyiseni Ndlozi be suspended without pay for 30 days.
Fellow EFF MPs Elsabe Louw, Ngwanamakwetle Mashabela, Nthako Matiase, Hlengiwe Maxon, Magdalene Moonsamy, and Andile Mngxitama, are to be suspended for a fortnight. Eight more EFF MPs were ordered to submit a verbal apology to the House.
On Friday, Parliament announced that letters of suspension and notices of fines have been sent to the 12 MPs.
The party has indicated it will not tender any apologies for the August 21 incident in which President Jacob Zuma's question time in Parliament was disrupted when EFF MPs chanted "pay back the money".
The EFF has said it is confident a court would find the disciplinary process leading up to the suspensions procedurally unfair.
