SAHRC outraged by Tokoza murder

The 26-year-old's mother Thuziwe Zozo reportedly said she suspected her daughter was killed because she was a lesbian. Her body was found on Sunday morning.

The SA Human Rights Commission expressed its outrage at the murder of Duduzile Zozo, who was found dead in Tokoza, Ekurhuleni.

"While the right to equality enshrined in the Constitution protects people from being discriminated against because of their sexual orientation, it is absolutely imperative that this constitutional right is given effect to by all members of society," spokesman Isaac Mangena said in a statement on Friday.

"We call upon the police to urgently investigate this matter and to find the perpetrator/s responsible for this heinous act."
