Madiba's Qunu home a no-fly zone

The airspace above the retirement home of Former President Nelson Mandela, in Qunu has been restricted as a no-fly zone.

The Daily Dispatch reports that last week the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) Air Force unit told that the airspace, which is a national key point (since it is the home of a former state president) was restricted to prevent the media from flying over the house to take pictures.

Two years ago police removed cameras erected by foreign media houses which had been installed at a house near Mandela’s home.

Police spokesman Colonel Vish Naidoo at the time said no one was allowed to film Mandela’s home or any other national key points.
