A woman was arrested on Sunday morning when police found three suspected stolen cars and four unlicensed firearms in Theresa Park, Akasia, north of Pretoria, police said.

"[Police] have recovered three suspected stolen vehicles which include a white Ford Focus, silver grey Subaru and a metallic green Chevrolet Spark at a complex in the north of Pretoria," spokeswoman Lt-Col Katlego Mogale said.

Two of the cars were fitted with strobe lights, a PA systems, and sirens. Two bags were found in one of the cars, Mogale said.

"Inside the bags were bulletproof vests, police reflector jackets, binoculars, handcuffs, two-way radios, balaclavas, four handguns and DHL uniform."

She said a manhunt was underway to find other suspects. Police said they were possibly linked to robberies in Pretoria and Gauteng.
