What really, really p!sses me off is that this old man was probably one of the true freedom fighters.
The ones who actually stayed in SA, and faced all the daily hardships under Apartheid. The ones who were counted on when the leaders needed numbers. The ones who put their lives at risk daily, and he has to die a paiful death such as this.
Sure, he probably would have died anyway, but to not have medication to help make his death that bit less painful? While others are building empires and flying in luxury as if there is no tomorrow?
This government is hurting its own people more than the apartheid government ever did. This old man might not have been in a bed in the same wing as a white person under the apartheid government, but he would have had morphine.
