ANC not in a hurry to enforce penalty - Mthembu

THE sanctions against suspended ANC Youth League president Julius Malema will only take effect after mitigation, SABC radio news reported last night.

"You will know that the NDCA (national disciplinary committee of appeals) said that they have a chance to go and mitigate, so until such mitigation has taken place the sanctions will not kick in," ANC spokesman Jackson Mthembu told the SABC.

"There is another matter which has been raised. It is a matter of comrade Julius' case of 2010 because he got a suspended sentence, but I think the leadership has decided that there is no particular hurry. Why don't we allow all these matters to be held simultaneously?"
