Rajbansi, leader of Minority Front passes away

Leader of the Minority Front political party Amichand Rajbansi has died. He was 69 years old.

The party has confirmed that Rajbansi died at approximately 10:10 on Thursday morning at the Netcare Umhlanga Hospital in Durban.

No further details are available.

Rajbansi, nicknamed the Bengal Tiger, was a former chief minister of the House of Delegates Tricameral parliamentary chamber for Indian people, and founding member of the National People’s Party, which then became the Minority Front.

After the 2004 elections, Rajbansi aligned with the African National Congress and became the Kwazulu-Natal MEC for Sports and Recreation. Article taken from TimesLIVE
