Pastor arrested for R1m of state prescription medicine at church

A 34-YEAR-OLD pastor was arrested in Hammersdale after he was allegedly found in possession of state prescription medicines worth R1 million, KwaZulu-Natal police said

This was after police got information that he allegedly dispensed state medicines to members of the community, Colonel Jay Naicker said.

Police went to the pastor's church and found the medicines marked for state use.

Naicker said investigations were ongoing to determine where the medicines came from.

The pastor will appear in the Hammersdale magistrate's court today to face charges related to the Medicines Control Act.
