TV actor's rape trial postponed

The man is standing trial for allegedly raping his four-year-old daughter on Christmas Day

THE rape case against a prominent television actor was postponed in the Wynberg magistrate's court yesterday.

The actor appeared briefly before magistrate Gideon Schnetler and his case was postponed for further investigation.

The man, 40, allegedly raped his four-year-old daughter at a hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg, on Christmas Day.

The man was arrested in Germiston on January 2. The matter was later transferred to Sandton, where the actor was detained and charged.

Earlier last month the court heard that there were two medical reports.

The first report said the girl had no signs of penetration. The other one, done six days later, showed fresh injuries.

He will appear again on February 22.
