Katy Perry's conservative father Keith Hudson says he's ''always proud'' of her and can't wait to watch her Super Bowl performance.

Firebrand evangelical Christian minister Keith Hudson, who previously admitted he didn't approve of his 30-year-old daughter's risky costumes, insists he has no problem with her performing at the Super Bowl next Sunday (01.02.15) and can't wait to watch her take to the stage alongside Lenny Kravitz.

Asked if he was upset about the 'Roar' hitmaker's upcoming show at the sporting event in Phoenix, Arizona, he said: ''Oh no, I don't have a problem. ''I'm always proud. I'm a proud father.'' Katy has even shared a few details about what she plans to sing with Keith.

Speaking at his church's headquarters in Orange County, California, he told the MailOnline: ''She's gonna do some good ones - she's excited.''

The 'Dark Horse' hitmaker recently sparked rumours she has reunited with her on-again, off-again boyfriend John Mayer, but Keith claims he doesn't know if they are back together. He said: ''I don't know, you know more than I know.''

The conservative minister, 67, previously admitted he cried at one of Katy's concerts. He told a congregation in Santa Fe Springs, California, in 2013: ''I was at a concert of Katy's where there were 20,000.

I'm watching this generation and they were going at it. It almost looked like church. I stood there and wept and kept on weeping and weeping. They're loving and worshiping the wrong thing.''
