Musician Themba up for Muvhango's Ranthumeng role

Muvhango has the musician fever, with their latest member to join the team playing the role of Ranthumeng on the popular venda soapie on SABC 2.

RnB and SAMA award winning singer Brian Themba Malikwane was presented an opportunity on a silver platter. He will be pursuing his acting skills on Muvhango.

Malikwane takes over Themba Nofemele’s role as Ranthumeng, who was allegedly shown the door for his big-headed attitude.

This role landed on his lap by chance as he was initially auditioning for a character called Tumelo but his brilliant skills opened doors to a bigger role.

Muvhango’s executive producer Duma ka Nldovu approached Malikwane, and since October last year he had been filming for the soapie - and will debut on the show next month.

His acting skills were honed from his role as Simba in The Lion King for ten years on London’s West End.

Just not so long ago singer Chomee was recruited to the show to play sultry socialite, ‘Ms Chichi’.

Generations is another soapie scooping music artists into their show. Hip hop artist Mxolisi Majozi known as Zuluboy has been rumored to be shooting episodes for SABC 1’s popular soapie.

With experience on TV from popular series such as Intersexions and Soul City, Zuluboy has mastered his skills of acting and will be an interesting character to look out for.

A close source to the media has revealed that the hip hop star can be expected to make his debut on Generations very soon.
