Christina Aguilera says spending time with her son takes priority over exercise.

The 'Fighter' singer recently said she felt ''sexier than ever'' due to her new fitness routine and slimmer figure, but insists she will always ditch the gym to bond with her family.

Christina - who had her five year-old son Max Liron with ex husband Jordan Bratman - told Redbook magazine: ''If I have to choose between working out and spending time with my son after a hard day, it's not even a question.''

The 32-year-old beauty has resumed her role as a judge for the fifth series of 'The Voice USA' alongside Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton, whom she treats like her siblings. She said: ''I know these guys so well, they really are like my brothers, no joke.

There's a 12-year-old boy in me who loves to come out and play with them.''

Christina had taken a year hiatus from the popular NBC talent show - during which time she was replaced by Shakira - and claims the break was needed in order to reconnect with herself.

She explained: ''I needed to decompress, wind down the clock and just breathe. I needed to find out who I am outside of that red chair.''
