Cuba Gooding Jr. looking for New York home

Cuba Gooding Jr. is looking for somewhere to live in New York City ahead of his appearance in Broadway show 'The Trip to Bountiful'.

The 45-year-old actor is to star in a Broadway production of 'The Trip to Bountiful' and has been getting to know the nightspots of New York City better ahead of his temporary relocation from California.

An onlooker at the General restaurant in the Bowery, who saw the actor there with friends on Tuesday (15.01.13), told the New York Post newspaper: "They were doing shots of tequila, and stuck around till 11pm. He was heard talking about looking for a place to stay."

The play - which also stars Vanessa Williams - begins previews on March 31 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

The 'Machete Kills' star was recently given the news that Fox won't be going ahead with his new legal drama 'Guilty'.

The project had been "kept in consideration" after it missed the cut in May, but show bosses have now been told that the studio aren't interested in the series, a year after they picked it up to pilot.

'Guilty' would see Gooding portray a defence lawyer who was stripped of his legal licence after being falsely convicted of fraud use his "unorthodox methods to solve the cases he's been prohibited from handling and to ultimately exact revenge on the man who set him up".
