IF YOU'VE been wondering what has happened to Dali Tambo, wonder no more.

Oliver Tambo's son will return to our small screens on Sunday after an absence of a decade with a new season of his talk show People of the South.

Some of the guests who will be featured in the show are Public Protector Thuli Madonsela, ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe and President Jacob Zuma.

Tambo says: "This show is a celebration of people and their contribution to society. It also answers questions on people's minds, such as 'what is Thuli Madonsela like when she is not in the public eye?'"

The father of four says the show is a historical archive for the nation.

"The show is a living heritage. I interviewed Kader Asmal, Marike de Klerk (the wife of former president FW de Klerk), and my mother Adelaide Tambo during the last leg of the show and those clips serve as records for the nation."

Asked how hard it is to get his guests to open up about their private lives and their families, he says: "I am a charmer and the best thing is they allow themselves to be vulnerable.

" Zimba bwe President Robert Mugabe told my sister Tselane Tambo that he is waiting for me. He does not want to die before I interview him and his family."

People of the South was last flighted about a decade ago. The show will kick off with a preview of all the figures who will be interviewed by Tambo.

Tambo's first guest will be Zuma and his family on August 19.

In a clip from the show Zuma and his family are having dinner. He tells his children that he loves them.

The show will be broadcast on SABC3 at 8.30pm.
