What to eat or drink to keep weight in check

OBESITY is becoming a big problem for adults and children. Here are some ways to reduce your calorie intake:

Eat a wide variety of foods to avoid getting bored with what you eat and make sure they are low in calories but high in nutrient.

Eat fewer fatty or high-fat foods.

Eat less - serve yourself smaller portions and limit or eliminate second helpings.

Eat more fruit and vegetables, but without added fats and sugars.

Eat pasta, rice, whole-wheat or whole-grain breads and cereals, again without added fats and sugars.

Cut back considerably on sugars, sweets, biscuits, cakes and cold drinks.

Drink less or, preferably, no alcohol.
