Doing each other's nails is a secret to happy marriage - Spelling

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermot believe the secret to a happy marriage is painting each other’s nails.

The former 'Beverly Hills 90210' star and her husband – who have two children, Liam, three, and two-year-old Stella - often give each manicures and pedicures and Dean loves the bond it gives them.

He told America's In Touch magazine: "I call it 'Male Polish'. I mean we started doing each other’s nails and I love it, I'm wearing blue right now on my toes! I don't know why everyone doesn't do it!

Tori added: "I wanted to paint my nails gun metal for the night, so I borrowed Dean’s nail polish."

The couple – who recently renewed their wedding vows – also paint the kids' nails because the tots like to experiment with their look as well.

Dean – who has recovered from a recent motorcycle accident - said: "Whenever we can, they come get manicures and pedicures with us and they love it! Liam has blue and red on his toes like Spider-Man this week and green on his fingernails like The Hulk."

As well as liking their nails painted, Tori recently compared her children to "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde".

The 37-year-old actress said Liam and Stella are at a very difficult stage in their growth and says their moods change in similar ways to the split personalities of the main character in Robert Louis Stevenson's novel.

She said: "It is challenging, as amazing as it is, they're all over the place. Completely Jekyll and Hyde.

"At this age, they're two and three right now, it's unbelievable the things that come out of their mouths. They make me laugh all day long. They have two speeds: on and on."
