Bid to house the poor

SASOL and FNB have responded to the government's call to address the housing backlog in the country, especially for the poor.

The companies partnered to develop new affordable houses.

The houses are made from mining and manufacturing by-products and are designed and built from technology developed by Tower Technologies, a subsidiary of EnviroServ Waste Management. A two-bedroom house will cost R330000.

The first three housing units have been built in Cosmo City, Johannesburg.
