Les Maada's death shock kwaito lovers

Veteran Kwaito brand Alaska and their record label Kalawa Jazmee mourn the loss of band member Lesley ‘Les Maada’ More.

The sad news hit kwaito lovers and fans this morning. 

The exact course of the death is still unknown to the public, however the news has hit musicians and fans throughout the country.

Les Maada’s social media facebook page posted the following notification about his death.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our brother.... Lesley More. Les brought joy and laughter to millions and was a great inspiration to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed. Prayers go to his family, friends, FANS & colleagues at this time. May his soul rest in peace.

The news has circulated on social platforms leading to musicians and fans pouring out their condolences.

Mafiikizolo tweeted saying: “IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS TO INFORM YOU THAT OUR BROTHER, OUR FRIEND, A FAMILY MEMBER 'LES MOORE' OF ALASKA PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING.FRIDAY..”

Other musicians who tweeted their condolences include Robby Malinga, Seanpages and Psyfo.

Alaska made names in the 90’s with popular tracks such as Dlala  kayona, Efa Motho, Madzadzadza,Accuse and many more.

The band that started of with five members became a trio with Les Maada, Picat and Thabo  "Crazy" Tsotetsi.

The trio had recently gone back to recording in studio to revive kwaito.

Their album titled  Alaska The Revival is the new release they had been working after a four year break from the music scene.
