Cellphone plotting leads to another arrest in Jayde murder case

Cellphone plotting has apparently resulted in police arresting another person in connection with the murder of Jayde Panayiotou.

Zolani “Roxo”‚ who is believed to be in his 30s‚ was taken into custody at his parental home in Greenbushes at 12.15pm on Sunday.

He will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday on charges including murder.

Through cellphone plotting‚ police were allegedly able to place Roxo at Jayde’s Kabega Park residence together with suspected hit men Sizwezakhe Vumazonke and Sinethemba Nemembe on April 15 last year‚ when‚ it is believed‚ they scouted her route to work at Riebeek College in Uitenhage.

Roxo was again present‚ police allege‚ when the kidnapping was abandoned the following day‚ April 16‚ when the men could not find Jayde.

Roxo was arrested by investigating officer Captain Kanna Swanepoel.

Roxo is believed to be Zolani’s mother’s maiden name and police are still trying to determine the correctness of the surname given to them upon his arrest.

Jayde’s husband Christopher Panayiotou is accused of ordering the hit on his wife.
