He might not be filling the Dome, but AKA promises a SupaMega show when he stages his concert at Zone 6 in Diepkloof, Soweto on Sunday.

A production company that worked on MetroFM Music Awards has been roped in and no expense has been spared on the lighting and the sound.

"It's very big and special," he told Sowetan. He said they were selling show packages that include meet-and-greet sessions with fans and he would perform an hour-long show.

After working with promoters for years, AKA said he was confident to go it alone. "It's a huge deal.

"Everything is in my control. You have to see it to believe it. There will be six big screens around and it's gonna be like you're watching a show at an arena," he said.

"For the longest time we have been taking bookings at the mercy of promoters, put now we take things in our own hands and show what we can do. I can't blame anybody. This is the first of many SupaMega shows."

AKA's latest single, One Time, debuted on number one on iTunes and had its worldwide radio exclusive on BBC 1xtra where it's playlisted. He is up for four Sama awards, including two for record of the year for Baddest and All Eyes On Me.

About One Time, AKA said he had wanted to produce a film about blessers and the blessed and this song shines some spotlight on this controversial topic.

"It's a real social issue. The grass is green, the sky is blue, and blessers exist. It's a fact of life.

"But I'm a father and it will never happen to my daughter because I will take care of her and have a good relationship with her. But I'm not everybody's father. And I don't frown upon it.

He doesn't see himself as a blesser per se. "We bless in different ways. When you're in a committed relationship, you're not a blesser, you treat your woman right."
