Accidents claim three lives‚ eight injured

Rescue services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to the body of a man after his vehicle rolled multiple times off the Mjindini Trust Road in Barberton‚ Mpumalanga‚ on Friday.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene they found the car lying on its side‚ some distance from the road.

In Gauteng‚ a 23-year-old man was killed on Friday morning after his vehicle smashed into a tree on Springbok Road in Meyerton.

ER24 said it the car had smashed into the tree on the driver’s side. It appears the man lost control of his car‚ hit a pothole and then collided with the tree.

A man was killed and three others injured‚ including two children‚ when cars collided in Lindhaven‚ west of Johannesburg‚ on Thursday.

Paramedics found the body of a man in his 50s lying trapped inside one of the vehicles‚ according to ER24.

The woman and her two girls‚ aged about 10 and 12‚ were found in the second car and had minor to moderate injuries. They were taken to Krugersdorp Hospital.

Five people were injured on Thursday evening when four vehicles collided near Upington in the Northern Cape.

One vehicle was found in a field and another on the side of the road‚ ER24 said in a statement. The other two were still on the road.

The injuries of four men and a woman ranged from minor to moderate. They were taken to Upington Hospital.
