The ANC’s national executive committee wrapped up a three-day meeting in Pretoria on Sunday afternoon but there is still no indication whether President Jacob Zuma’s alleged relationship with the Gupta family or the issue of alleged state capture had been discussed.
The ruling party’s top decision-making body was due to hold a news conference at 3pm to reveal the outcomes of the meeting but by 3.55pm the news briefing had still not got under way.
ANC general secretary Gwede Mantashe had stated prior to the meeting that the Gupta issue and the subject of calls for Zuma to be recalled were not on the agenda for the meeting.
