A 14-year-old girl who fell into an irrigation canal at Moses Mabida‚ Kirkwood‚ on Monday was found by residents on Wednesday.
The body of Asemahle April was recovered about 15km from the original place where she had fallen into the canal.
Warrant Officer Gerda Swart said a large operation was conducted by various role players since the report was received on Monday.
Kirkwood police have opened an inquest.
