DJ Donald Sebolai's flat was cleaned after girlfriend's death

Former Jozi FM DJ Donald “DJ Donald Duck” Sebolai’s flat‚ where his girlfriend was found dead‚ looked like it had been cleaned when police arrived at the murder scene.

The Johannesburg High Court‚ sitting at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court southeast of Johannesburg‚ heard this on Tuesday when police detective warrant officer Mbhazima December Chabalala testified in Sebolai’s murder trial.

Sebolai‚ 38‚ is accused of stabbing his girlfriend‚ Flavia Rachel “Dolly” Tshabalala‚ 32‚ to death after the couple had a fight at the Soweto flat in June last year.

The DJ also faces charges of theft and defeating the ends of justice for allegedly stealing Tshabalala’s car and tampering with the crime scene.

He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Chabalala testified that he had expected to find more blood at the crime scene due to the nature of Tshabalala’s injuries.

For this reason he had looked inside the washing machine‚ and there he found some bloodied clothes and bathroom mats‚ he said.

The court heard earlier that Tshabalala was stabbed in her lower abdomen and that the wound extended to the root of her right thigh. She died of excessive blood loss and hypovolemic shock (a life-threatening condition that results when a person loses more than 20% of their body’s blood or fluid supply).

Sebolai is out on bail of R10‚000.

The trial continues.
