Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane announced that he wrote to the public protector to determine who authorised the use of state resources to enable Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir's unlawful departure from South Africa.
Bashir left the Waterkloof Air Base for Khartoum on Monday last week after the Pretoria High Court ruled that he should be held in this country. He is wanted for war crimes by the International Criminal Court.
