R50,000 reward for Jozi FM DJ arrest

A R50,000 reward has been offered for the arrest of a radio DJ who allegedly killed his girlfriend in Jabulani, Soweto, Gauteng police said on Wednesday.

"The R50,000 is offered to anyone who has information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect. Police continue to search for him," said Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela.

The DJ's 32-year-old girlfriend was stabbed several times and locked in a flat in Jabulani on Sunday.

The man then phoned the woman's friend and told her he had killed her.

The radio presenter is an employee at Soweto-based community radio station, Jozi FM.

On Monday, Jozi FM manager Mpho Mhlongo said they did not know the man's whereabouts and called on him to turn himself in.

"This will enable the judicial process to run its course and closure can be found for the families, relatives and friends on both sides," he said.
