FIRED radio presenter Linda Sibiya will tell spend his time campaigning for the ANC.

Speaking to Sowetan this week, Ukhozi FM breakfast show host Mr Magic denied allegations of corruption levelled against him and using his position at the station to campaign for the ANC.

But for now he said he plans to devote his time and energy to the ANC ahead of the elections.

"I am going to have time to campaign for the ANC," Sibiya said.

Sibiya said he was not bitter and, should SABC management want him back, he would gladly accept the offer.

"I am not bitter towards station management.

"In fact, I respect management's decision but I plan to prove that the allegations against me are not true."

Sibiya has been Ukhozi FM presenter for 18 years before being dismissed at the end of last month.

"Should the SABC ask me to go back I would gladly accept my job," he said.

It is alleged that his events company, Magic Communications, allegedly received R1.8-million in sponsorship from retail company Edcon to organise a function to honour legends who had worked for the station in the past - but the event did not take place.

It also alleged that his affiliation with the ANC was another reason for his firing.

Sibiya was spotted at the party's election campaigns working as an MC.

But he said he had not allowed his political affiliation with the ANC to get in the way of his work for the station.

"I love the ANC and I am a proud comrade. Yes, I have been involved with the work of my favourite organisation.

"All the work I did for the ANC, I did on weekends.

"I don't see why I should be fired for it," Sibiya said.

Sibiya, who has won multiple awards for his Vuka Mzansi breakfast show, said although he was going to miss radio if he was not reinstated, there was life after Ukhozi.

"If my days of radio have come to an end I am going to accept that too and move on.

"I plan to concentrate on my businesses and other things. I am not jobless.

"I have my security company and my events company to fall back on."

He also plans to continue giving motivational talks.

He will state his side of the story at a press conference at the Durban City Hall today.
