Zwelithini warns about evil

ZULU King Goodwill Zwelithini yesterday warned the nation about devil worshippers and their "evil tricks".

Speaking at the installation ceremony of iNkosi Thokozani Mbusowesizwe Gumede at Sqalakatha in Mkhanyakude, Zwelithini also cautioned Mkhanyakude residents, in northern KwaZulu-Natal, about Satanism, which he said had spread across the country, according to KwaZulu-Natal co-operative governance department spokesman Mandla Mkhize.

Zwelithini encouraged prayer and a return to cultural practices to fight evil spirits, which drove people to hostile behaviour.

"Our forefathers never knew Jesus, but had cultural beliefs and teachings that were very similar to His.

"I am where I am because of your prayers," the King said.

KwaZulu-Natal economic development MEC Mike Mabuyakhulu advised Gumede not to have many friends during his leadership, and to treat all his people equally and with respect.
