Free State premier Ace Magashule has appointed Elzabe Rockman as the province's new finance MEC.
Rockman, who had served as the province's director general since 2010, was appointed with immediate effect on Monday.
She would replace Seiso Mohai, who would move to Parliament.
The appointment would create a vacancy for a director-general.
According to The New Age, in other moves, agriculture MEC Mosebenzi Zwane and economic development, tourism and environmental affairs MEC Mamiki Qabathe would swap departments, and Dr Benjamin Malakoane would serve as health MEC.
