'I have moved on ...' - New life for Mbalula's ex-lover

SPORTS Minister Fikile Mbalula's ex-lover, Joyce Molamu, says she is trying to pick up the pieces of her life so she can move on after a damning sex scandal.

Last year the 28-year-old hogged headlines for having had unprotected sex with Mbalula and claiming she was pregnant with the married father's child.

Last Thursday the alluring model, who attended the Gauteng Sports Awards announcement cocktail party at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg, told Sowetan she has turned a new leaf in her life.

"I'm a changed person," Molamu said. "Everything is in the past. I'm working like everyone else. I have a new boyfriend who is not a public figure and I've never been this happy in my life."

She added that she was still living in Sandton.

Molamu said she was invited by the organisers of the event in her personal capacity.

She said there was no bad blood between her and Mbalula but she had not seen him or spoken to him for a long time.

The event was hosted by Gauteng sport, arts, culture and recreation MEC Lebogang Maile.

The generously funded Gauteng Sports Awards' main event will take place at Emperors Palace on June 30.

Mbalula was not at the event.

Molamu's other ex, Zizi Kodwa, who recently tied the knot with Zama Ngubane, avoided her like the plague.

The president's former spokesman, who now works as marketing manager for the Film Commission, which falls under the Department of Arts, Sports and Recreation, watched from a distance as Sowetan spoke to her.

When asked if he believed Molamu was a changed woman he said he did not "want to get involved in anything to do with that woman".

Molamu, who was suited up, cut a businesswoman-like image.

She was with a white man who introduced himself only as GB.

Asked if GB was her new boyfriend, Molamu said they were business partners.

"We are into the promotions business together," she said.
