Blue Bull Bees Roux's trial set to re-start

Roux stands accused of murdering a 38-year-old Tshwane metro police officer in August 2010

The trial of murder accused Blue Bulls rugby player Jacobus Stephanus “Bees” Roux is expected to start in the High Court in Pretoria on Monday.

The trial was postponed earlier this year when Magistrate Desmond Nair extended Roux’s bail of R100,000. Nair previously granted an order converting the bail amount into a guarantee for which Roux’s lawyer, Rudi Krause’s firm, would be liable if he failed to honour his bail conditions.

Roux’s defence team said that it had received a copy of the indictment from the prosecutor and a summary of substantial facts.

Roux stands accused of murdering 38-year-old Tshwane metro police officer Ntshimane Johannes Mogale in August 2010.
