Cocaine bust in suburb

Three men have been arrested in the Douglasdale suburb of Johannesburg when they were found in possession of cocaine worth about R1.5 million

The three, two Brazilians and one Angolan, are believed to have been manufacturing the drug at a house in the suburb, spokesman Warrant officer Balan Muthan said.

“We found utensils and substances like bicarbonate of soda which  are commonly used to 'cut' the drug. So far 2.5kg of cocaine, which  amounts to a value of about R1.5 million has been found, but the police are still searching the premises.”

The trio was expected to appear before the Randburg Magistrate’s  Court soon on charges of manufacturing and possession of drugs.
