FOR three weeks after she was allegedly raped by a 62-year-old man, a nine-year-old girl has refused to go to school.
The girl and an eight-year-old girl who also lives in Lenyenye township outside Tzaneen in Limpopo were allegedly raped between February 10 and 14 this year.
"All I want now is to move her as far away from this community as possible," her mother said. "My problem is I do not have money to take her to a boarding school far from these miseries."
On Thursday the man accused of the rapes appeared in the Naphuno magistrate's court to apply for bail.
It was denied.
