Six arrested for unlicensed guns

SIX men were arrested yesterday for possession of unlicensed firearms in Edenvale, east of Johannesburg.

Metro police spokesperson Wilfred Kgasago said: "They were found with two unlicensed 9mm pistols, a key for a Mini Cooper and hand gloves after hawk-eyed police officers sighted a suspicious-looking white minibus."

Four cellphones were also confiscated. "The suspects will be further investigated to see if they cannot be linked to crimes recently committed in the area," said Kgasago.
