No bail for triple killing accused

THE three men accused of the Theresa Park triple murder of a mother and her two children were denied bail by the Pretoria magistrate's court yesterday.

Magistrate Chris Cokoe found nothing exceptional in what the accused had said in court, adding that the state had made a prima facie case against the suspects.

Cokoe said due to the nature and seriousness of the crime the men were flight risks.

The three men, aged 28, 33 and 34, were faced with a charge of raping Thifhelimbilu Mashau.

Their names cannot be revealed until they plead.

In previous court proceedings, one of the accused claimed Mashau and her "boyfriend" had asked him to stage a robbery so that they could claim from insurance.

The three allegedly killed Mashau, her daughters - four-year-old Adivhaho and eight-month-old Avheani. A family friend found the corpses of the children in the house on July 30 and their mother's body was found two days later in a vehicle in a veld in GaRankuwa.

The case was postponed to November 5.
