Fifty people have been arrested for public violence for taking part in a service delivery protest in Umlazi on Monday morning, KwaZulu-Natal police said.
"This was not strike-related, it was a service delivery protest by Umlazi residents," said Brigadier Phindile Radebe.
Brig Radebe said the road has now been re-opened.
