Emtee’s ‘Roll Up’ takes song of the year award

Roll Up hitmaker, Emtee da hustler real name Mthembeni Ndevu received his first big accolade at the SA Hip Hop awards last night at Gold Reef City, Lyric Theatre.

His track Roll Up was dubbed Song of the Year in the category competing against Ricky Rick, Aka and other hip hop gurus of game.

Undoubtedly the biggest song in 2015, Roll Up has been topping airplay lists on national radio and the remix with Wizkid and AKA is also expected to gain popularity.

"This is a dream come true, I come from the streets of Jozi with a wrecked pair of All Star shoes, today through one song I'm able to buy many.

"I used to sit and day dream about my future, it was tough but today my daily prayers have proven God is there for me."

His debut album titled ‘Avery’ dropped in stores and on iTunes last week.
