Civil action in SA is crucial‚ says e-toll activist

A former chief executive and now e-toll civil activist‚ Wayne Duvenage‚ believes civil action is needed to deal with South Africa’s problems.

He recently released his book‚ the ‘E-Tolls Saga: A journey from CEO to Civil Activist’‚ which recounts his story and contains lessons on how to mobilise the public and launch a successful nonprofit civil organisation.

The Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance (Outo) rose rapidly from nothing to a visible brand with more than R12 million for litigation and civil action.

The Gordon Institute of Business Science is hosting a conversation with him on why civic action is necessary and what it takes‚ at the GIBS campus‚ Johannesburg‚ on August 13.
