Twitter war between Generations actor and Anele Mda

Gender activist Anele Mda and axed Generations actor Thami Mngqolo had a go at each other on Twitter earlier this week.

A heated exchange of words took off when Anele Mda tweeted that Generations actors are crying over petty things.

According to her, they earn a decent salary and should not be greedy. This follows the salary revelation of 16 fired Generations actors in the media.

SundayWorld revealed that actors Thami Mngqolo, Zenande Mfenyane and Anga Makhubalo earn a weekly stipend of R9000 equalling to R36000 a month.

Responding to a tweet by Mngqolo, Mda responded: “Thami did you say a week? How much is that per month? Isn’t it 36000 come on now people stop being greedy.”

Mngqolo responded in a tweet: “I’m not surprised by your innate ability to jump on the nearest bandwagon.#letsschoolyou.”

The debate took its peak when Mda said their wages cry is a form of seeking sympathy.

“It doesn’t need anyone to be schooled, you started crying foul and claim peanuts when you were just touting for sympathy.”

Mngolo tweeted: “To trivialise this matter means you fail to see the bigger picture. Maybe I expect too much of you. Your lack of empathy erodes your dignity.”

“Nevertheless @AneleMda I forgive you, your ignorance because you don’t know. I can’t fault you for that. It’s up to us to speak out.”

The conversation fuelled up and Mda tweeted: “hahahaha geez that sounds like a person who believes that only teachers should speak about education. Gosh are you for real.”

The Generations actor told her to calm down for blood pressure safety.

“Don’t get your blood pressure up, I forgive you.”
