Cut Vagina woman wants her life back

With a trembling hand, she slowly picks up a fork and tries to feed herself. But her food lands in her lap before reaching her mouth.

Her six-year-old daughter stops eating and pushes her mother's plate closer to her and asks her to try again. The 29-year-old mother smiles and sheds a tear.

It takes her more than an hour to finish her meal as she uses both hands to pick up a glass of cool-drink in between.

The mother of three was left paralysed and wheelchair-bound after she was attacked by her lover in April last year.

The 34-year-old man who stabbed her also sliced off her genitals after accusing her of cheating.

He was sentenced to 12 years in jail for attempted murder and five years for sexual assault.

The man and woman cannot be identified to protect the identities of their children.

Yesterday, women police officers from Hammanskraal police station and female court officials treated the woman and her children to a day of fun and games at Carousel Casino and Entertainment World in Hammanskraal.

Lieutenant Sarah Lesabane said: "We wanted to take her mind off the stress she lives with every day. Her ordeal was one of the most traumatic cases we had to deal with. We also wanted to show her that we care about what happened to her," Lesabane said.

Magic Company site manager Oupa Mathe said they wanted the woman's children to feel loved as they too were touched by her ordeal.

"A game drive has a way of refreshing one's mind and we believe it will help her release some of the stress," he said.

The woman is recovering from injuries that left her unable to care for herself and her children.

Following several operations, the woman is now learning how to use her limbs again.

The woman prays for a miracle.

"Doctors advised me to be patient but they could not guarantee a complete recovery. It breaks my heart because my children have to watch me suffer every day.

"It was difficult for them at the beginning because they could not understand why I was unable to do things for them. They are now my little heroes and they are very helpful," she said.

"I hate him. He changed my life completely. I am unable to care for my children because of him. I do not want anything to do with him."

Despite her words, she has forgiven her attacker.

"I take comfort in prayer. I pray that God restores my health completely. All I want to do is take care of my children. I don't think about men or sex at the moment. I just want my life back."
