Jub Jub's trial set for December

THE murder case of hip-hop artist Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye and Themba Tshabalala was postponed to December in the Protea magistrate's court yesterday.

The court heard that Ike Motloung was busy in a high court as an acting judge and could therefore not represent his musician client.

The case was set down for four days, starting on December 13.

The two men face four murder charges following an accident in March this year which killed four schoolchildren and critically injured two others.

Their Mini Coopers veered off the road in Soweto, allegedly while the two accused were drag-racing, and allegedly while they were under the influence of liquor and drugs.

A small group of youths protested outside the court and the gates to the courthouse were closed.
