Capricorn students released
STUDENTS from Capricorn FET college in Seshego, outside Polokwane in Limpopo, who were arrested and charged with public violence have all been released on their own recognisances.
Police had arrested the 12 students at the college after accusing them of destroying campus property.
Police had fired rubber bullets at the students to "manage" the situation.
The suspects, whose ages range between 18 and 24, were released on warning and their case was postponed to March 30 while further investigations were being made.
Seshego police spokesperson Inspector Mothemane Malefo said yesterday that their investigations were still under way to determine the cause of the students' actions and also to determine what they had damaged.
"We were only called to the institution to monitor the situation as management had summoned us on suspicion that the students might cause damage to property," Malefo said.
