Sifiso Myeni may just be the lucky charm Orlando Pirates need to lift the Nedbank Cup trophy on Saturday.

A winner of this competition on two occasions, Myeni is banking on the experience he has gained to make it three out of three cup final victories when Pirates meet SuperSport United at Peter Mokaba Stadium (3pm).

Myeni first won the competition as a rising 21-year-old star at Bidvest Wits in 2010 and four years later inflicted pain on the Clever Boys when he scored for Pirates in a 3-1 victory at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Ahead of the final against Matsatsantsa on Saturday, Myeni is ready to deliver and help the Buccaneers lift a third Nedbank Cup title in five years.

"It's my third final. I have some good memories of playing in this competition. In 2010, when I was at Wits, we were privileged enough to be the first ones to play at the FNB Stadium [after its World Cup revamp] and we won it," said Myeni, who scored in a 2-2 draw against Matsatsantsa in the league last weekend.

"After that I played against Wits in the final and I scored against them. Hopefully I will get another goal in the final."

He added: "This cup has been good to me because I have scored goals at crucial times. The last time I played in the final [in 2014], I did not score until we got to the final."

SuperSport beat Pirates in the last 16 of the same competition at Peter Mokaba Stadium last season and beat them again at the same venue when they met in the league early this season.

It would seem United have an advantage playing at a venue they use as an alternative to Lucas Moripe Stadium, but Myeni is not too worried about that.

"I scored there last season when we beat SuperSport, so I have some good memories from there. Going to Peter Mokaba Stadium won't be a problem. We have played away from home throughout the competition this season and we have come this far."
