With just five games left in the National First Division season, former Jomo Cosmos midfielder-turned-analyst Lucky Mhlathe gazes into the crystal ball to predict who will win automatic promotion.

According to his predictions, Baroka FC will win promotion ahead of second-placed Highlands Park, who are currently just a point behind.

Mhlathe on Baroka's remaining matches...

April 30: v Royal Eagles (A)

Mhlathe says: "Baroka have been good on the road, but they slipped up in their [3-1] defeat to Vasco in Cape Town last weekend. Eagles are on a high and will make life difficult for Baroka."

His prediction: Draw

May 4: v Thanda Royal Zulu (H)

"Thanda have not enjoyed a good season, but they beat AmaZulu away from home recently. They cannot be underestimated. The only problem with Thanda is inconsistency."

Prediction: Baroka win

May 7: v Witbank Spurs (H)

"Spurs have lost their last two matches, but they can make life difficult for Baroka.

"Both teams play attacking football, so it should be an interesting one."

Prediction: Draw

May 15: v African Warriors (A)

"Warriors are fighting relegation and their confidence is low. They are like Moroka Swallows - destined for relegation."

Prediction: Baroka win

May 22: v Milano United (H)

"Cape Town teams tend to struggle in the Polokwane heat. Milano will run out of steam, just like Santos did in Polokwane [last month]."

Prediction: Baroka win

Season total points: 61

Mhlathe on Highlands Park's remaining fixtures...

April 23: v Milano United (H)

"Milano are not consistent. I did not expect them to lose their last two matches. They will struggle against a disciplined Highlands Park team."

Prediction: Highlands win

May 1: v FC Cape Town (A)

"FC Cape Town have struggled this season and the consistent Highlands team will be too strong for them."

Prediction: Win

May 7: v Black Leopards (H)

"Leopards have a new coach in Sello Chokoe, who studies the game well and can get players to play for him."

Prediction: Draw

May 15: v Mthatha Bucks (A)

"They are difficult to play against, but I think Highlands will be stronger."

Prediction: Highlands win

May 22: v AmaZulu (H)

"AmaZulu want to finish the season on a high and many of the players would want to impress whoever is going to come in as their new coach."

Prediction: Draw

Season total points: 60
